At the age of six, Christof Menz first came into contact with fishing and it quickly became his great love. Seven years later, despite the advice of his adult fishing colleagues, he embarked on the adventure of fly fishing. As an autodidact, he used every free minute to chase fish with his first self-tied flies.
After graduating from high school, he studied sports science at the KF University of Graz. From 1997, "Stoffel" cooperated with various retailers and brands in the fly fishing scene and worked as a guide and course instructor. His sports studies influenced him primarily in terms of methodology and so it was not difficult for him to teach and train fly fishermen and women.
In 2003, he founded the company Pro-Guides Flyfishing together with Uwe Rieder. Over the past few years, as a professional guide, he has accompanied many fly fishermen at home and abroad on the water, passing on his know-how to them.
For over 10 years now, he has been working as a sales representative at Patagonia for fly fishing and is responsible for fly fishing shops in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
